I grew up in Greece and have lived in the UK since 2006 when I moved here for university. I moved around throughout my career, getting to know different parts of the country, I like travelling and exploring new areas. Outside of work I am very active and do a lot of sport.
I have a PhD in Biology and experience teaching, mainly at university level. This includes classroom-based teaching, demonstrating at laboratory practicals, as well as one-on-one supervisions. I found mentoring students particularly rewarding as you have the opportunity to share your passion for the subject and truly help them in pursuing theirs.
I am passionate about science and teaching and use this to engage and enthuse others. Through my experience I have learnt that different students respond best to different teaching approaches and I adapt mine to best suit the pupil.
