Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Megan, I'm 22 years old and currently in my fourth year studying for a Masters in Adult Nursing at the University of York, with an interest in Critical Care.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been working as a private tutor for over a year now, teaching in a variety of subjects from English Language to French, to a variety of pupil from pre-school age all the way up to A-Level.

Having studied for my A-Levels around 5 years ago, I got into tutoring younger A-Level students as well as GCSE pupils at the school I attended. I often tutored in lunch breaks, and also online, in subjects including Biology and English.

Training to be a nurse as well has offered up many opportunities for me to teach others. I'm currently serving as the president of the Nursing Society, and have done several talks for first year students regarding placement expectations and other standards expected from the university and the regulatory board of nurses.

Education is a big part of my life and career, and something I am hoping to move into later on in my working life. To be able to bring my knowledge and experience to others, is a great pleasure.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very much student led in my approach to tutoring. It is imperative that we work in a manner that suits the student, therefore I am open to using visual/auditory and other materials in order for the student to get the most out of each lesson.

I like to encourage a review periodically to identify what the student wishes to focus on for the next lesson/forseeable future in order to tailor each lesson to each individual student.
