Personal Description:

Hello! I'm Maxime, I'm a native french and super friendly student, fluent in english, and I'm a third year Ph.D student in organic chemistry at the University of Nottingham. Naturally, chemistry is my thing, particularly organic chemistry! I've already done some private tutoring in chemistry (speaking in french and english, but not both at the same time, that's weird!) and I'm also a demonstrator in teaching laboratories in the school of chemistry! So I have enough experience, and I have always loved to teach, I think it's important and it must be nicely done! I hope you will enjoy the way I see things and you will trust me to help you out!

I'm also a native french, so I can speak french (thanks, Sherlock), and I can help you if you want to speak french from time to time and you want someone to correct every single one of your mistakes when you speak. This is something I would have loved to find for english, after 2 years I'm good, but I can be that annoying person for you if you are interested! I don't teach french; I'm just available if you want to speak it with someone native (I don't have any accent) and you want to improve it a bit!

And finally, since I was born on inline skates (the word "ollerblades" will make you understand, but rollerblade is a brand, so it's wrong, just like hoovers and vacuum cleaners), I can teach skating from complete beginners to advanced skaters, including speed skating, street skating and slalom skating. This is what I mean by saying I can teach sports. It's not all sports, only and exclusively skating, but all levels!

Please don't be afraid if I can't provide you with a CRB check, whenever there's a conflict I just surrender! I'm french, it's in my genes!

Tutoring Experience:

Private tutoring in chemistry (in french and english)
Demonstrator in teaching laboratories in the school of Chemistry of the University of Nottingham
Direct supervisor of a master's student during 2015-2016 academic year

French? Just native, and already fluent in a language that's not my mother tongue (besides learning a third one), so I will know what will be good for you!

Skating? 20 years of experience, and also an official ICP level 1 instructor. If you want to check out on the internet, the level is very high!

For chemistry, I prefer not to give you my references, because they have other things to take care of (especially my boss), I hope you understand. If you want me to prove what I wrote, including my transcripts, my certificates I got from my many internships or anything else, you can ask me to show them to you without any problem. The french system is different than the english one, and I understand that you might feel a bit doubtful about that, but some of my transcripts are officially translated in english, you will see I'm not lying.

I can show you my ID card and passport to proove you I'm french. For skating, well you will quickly see I know what I'm talking about, and if you see the ICP website, you can even find me, so that's a proof already!

Tutoring Approach:

Listening to a person's needs is key. In chemistry, I like to be prepared in advance so I will ask all the lessons and exercises to be sent to me in advance so I can start to work on it and make your money worth it!

Over the years I became more and more able to find the appropriate words and different tips to help people to understand. So you are the boss! Tell me what you can't understand and we will find a way to solve that problem together!
