I am currently a full time teacher and head of physics at one of the most successful secondary schools in Yorkshire.
Since graduating with an honours degree in physics I went straight in to teaching. Since then I have retained my enthusiasm for both teaching and physics. I believe that this is one of the key reasons why my past students have all been so successful.
I currently teach at a school in Sheffield and live in Chesterfield. Therefore I am willing to travel anywhere that is near either of these places or anywhere that is on my route home (between the two).
I have over 10 years full time teaching experience, teaching GCSE science and A-level physics. I also have 9 years successful tuition experience and 8 years experience as an examiner for multiple exam boards. I have also held the position as head of the physics department for over 7 years and in this time the A-level physics results have continued to improve and are now well above national averages.
My extensive experience as a tutor and examiner means that I have a detailed knowledge of many different specifications and my experience as a teacher and tutor means that I have had time to develop the skills needed to deliver those specifications effectively.
Being quite a young teacher makes it easier for me to connect with my students, which allows me to more easily tailor each session to their individual needs. I usually try to find and use their strengths to build confidence while at the same time focus on their weaker areas in order to improve overall. This approach seems to have worked so far, as I have many happy and successful past students.
