I'm a classically trained guitarist currently studying for a Masters degree in music performance and composition at the University of Hull.
I am a friendly and enthusiastic person who loves to share my experience of music and guitar practice. I am passionate about music making and can teach effective tools and skills needed to play the guitar efficiently.
I have a highly developed approach to guitar technique and can teach you specific exercises that will improve the dexterity, flexibility, finger independence and economy of your hands.
I am an experienced performer, giving lunchtime recitals and evening performances. I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the Guitar and welcome all ages and abilities.
I've been giving private guitar tuition since 2010 helping students at the beginning of their journey as well as more experienced players.
I have recently passed the advance music performance LTCL diploma with distinction and I am aspiring towards the FTCL.
My style of teaching is friendly and communicative, always giving regular feedback to the student or parent. The lessons are made to be interesting and structured so that progress in all areas of musicianship and guitar technique can be made and enjoyed.
The interests of the student are very important when planning lessons and this will be discussed in the first free 30 minute consultation lesson to give me an insight of what I can help with and future lesson plans.
The structure of the lessons can be summarised with the following categories that I have devised to tackle the technical difficulties of the guitar and teach musical theory .
