I'd really describe myself as a person with a versatile skill-set, a lot of integrity and a willingness to go that extra mile for my students to succeed. In 2011 I changed my career to focus on teaching and training having spent eleven years in the e-learning sector designing and implementing training programs for the armed forces. I have a military background in the Royal Navy. I have a keen interest in mathematics and web-based learning programs. I also teach acoustic and classical guitar.

Tutoring Experience

I attained my PGCE from Hull University and I've worked in schools around the Humber region since 2013 both full-time and as a supply teacher. I have achieved great results with my students. I offer Mathematics tuition for students working towards their GCSE's as well as students studying KS2 and KS3. I also teach English at KS2.

I have taught acoustic and classical guitar, including theory for almost twenty years. I tutor using a graded system after the London College of Music Syllabus.

Tutoring Approach

I have high expectations of all the students I teach and encourage them to reach their full potential. I believe students should be able to take control of their own learning by expressing their ideas and suggestions. Using varying teaching styles and effective assessment techniques I can decide the best learning path for the student.

Please note the only after school slots I have available for tuition at the moment are 7pm to 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Most of Saturday is free.
