I recently graduated from Oxford University with first class degree honours in Classics and I am currently studying for my GDL (law conversion).
My areas of interest are the Latin and Ancient Greek language, Latin and Greek literature, specifically epic poetry, and ancient history, with a particular focus on the early Roman Principate.
I am able to work with students of all ages and abilities.
I have tutored both GCSE and A-Level students on Latin and Ancient Greek language, grammar and syntax, as well as tutoring one student for the CAT exam (University of Oxford entrance exam). Having gone through the process and tutoring for it, I have detailed knowledge of the Oxbridge entrance process.
I have also tutored students of all age groups on various forms of Latin and Greek literature, including epic poetry (Odyssey, Iliad, Hesiod and the Aeneid), love poetry (Catullus, Propertius, Ovid) and histories (Tacitus, Arrian, Suetonius and Cicero)
I will always take the time to work out the best method of learning for each individual student as this is an area I have researched extensively.
I try to create an environment in which students are confident enough to speak their minds. For me, there are no bad answers - part of the process of learning is working out why we get incorrect answers and working through the problem logically and clearly.
I will also instil a good work ethic and encourage my students to be the best they can be in any area they require.
