I am a private tutor and History graduate with a year's experience as a Teaching Assistant at a primary school. I also have a background in acting, including paid work for television. During my History degree I completed modules in a wide range of periods and topics and submitted a dissertation on childhood evacuation during the Second World War. As part of this degree I also excelled in
Philosophy modules - a favourite of mine was "Meaning and the Mind".
In addition to my paid television work, I have been passionate about stage acting for many years. As a member of my university's drama society, I played major roles in five productions, and in my biggest theatre role to date, at the Redgrave Theatre, Bristol, I helped raise £3.5k for charity.
I was named best male artist at school two years running, and used my talent to volunteer for a charity fundraiser - I created a 32-page comic and donated the
proceeds to the Prince’s Trust.
As well as my teaching experience in the UK, I have had the privilege of volunteering at a secondary school in Kenya. In 2021 I also a volunteered at London Design Festival's Augmented Reality exhibit at the V&A Museum. During my own 6th Form
education l was chosen by my school to participate in Model United Nations as the delegate for Botswana.
Primarily assisting lessons in Year 4 and Year 2 classes, I was flexible in
supporting a variety of topics and learning activities, as well teaching
students with a range of different learning-styles. I worked closely with children who had challenges in understanding particular topics, and I was able to help them understand the material in clear, accessible ways. I also supported children who excelled in certain fields, working to bring their comprehension to the next level through my general knowledge, communication skills and deep understanding of topics.
I offer tuition for primary and secondary school students in a range of
subjects. For primary years I can help pupils excel in English, Maths, and
wider subjects. For older years I focus on lessons in my degree-subject,
History, and English Literature and Language, in which I achieved two
A* grades. Using my TA experience and performance skills, I convey
knowledge and understanding of challenging topics in clear, engaging
ways to enable students to achieve their potential and make the learning experience enjoyable and rewarding.
