I am a qualified teacher with a PhD in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Newcastle. I am currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at a cancer research institute looking at mechanisms of cell cycle control within the University of Cambridge.
During my PhD I was extensively involved in teaching and demonstrating to undergraduate students of Biochemistry and Biomedicine. I was also involved in outreach work with local schools in the North East of England, providing taster days for secondary pupils. Following my PhD I completed my PGCE and worked in two large comprehensives in Newcastle and Durham teaching from Key Stages 3-5, at the end of which I was graded as "Outstanding".
Flexible and open to discussion with both the pupil and parents/guardians.
