Nottingham Tutor

I am a friendly individual who is interested in working with students of all abilities to improve and achieve as highly as possible. I have genuine interests in education and physics/ general sciences and I have worked as a tutor at various times over the last 4 years. I am keen to tailor my approach to individuals that I work with, allowing me to offer the best possible support for every student. I have helped a large number of students in a variety of ways including improving subject knowledge and understanding, application of subject knowledge, improving exam technique and building confidence. I can offer a range of resources updated for the new A level and GCSE specifications which are tried and tested in a school setting.

Qualifications and most recent employment:
BSc Theoretical Physics first class (hons)
PGCE Secondary Physics
Physics teacher (GCSE and A level)
Head of Physics

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in a wide range of secondary school settings, most recently as the Head of Physics at a top Grammar School in Buckinghamshire. I have recent experience of teaching KS3 Science, GCSE and A level Physics (new specifications). I have previously taught GCSE Maths.

Tutoring Approach

I work with students to quickly determine strengths and areas for improvement. I use carefully selected and modified past paper questions to tailor sessions to benefit every individual and also deliver content where it is needed/ desired. Building confidence can be hugely beneficial, but I also push and challenge every student to reach and even exceed their potential.
