*** Shwmae pawb/Hello Everyone!*** Are you looking for some online (Via Zoom due to lockdown. I'm all set up with a HD webcam, dedicated room and multiple screens). When a lockdown isn't in place a face to face session is possible. Would you like some additional support to assist school based learning for Welsh and English Medium primary schools? If so, please do continue reading. I am a Welsh medium primary school tutor with over 4 years tutoring experience and qualified as a teacher in 2013. I gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography at Swansea University in 2004 and a PGCE Primary Degree from the University of Wales Trinity St David in 2013. Whilst my main tutoring focus is primary, I'm happy to help with conversational Welsh, French and Italian to assist with basic communication whilst abroad or even if your like me and love to learn something new. Please get in touch if your interested. There's no pressure to accept but please do say hi and I can even offer block booking discounts for multiple lessons or discounts for more than one pupil. If it's some homework help you need or some help to understand school work from a parents perspective do get in touch. There's no minimum or maximum term. Thanks for looking at my profile. Hope to speak with you soon. Mathew.
I have taught all age groups in various primary schools both through the medium of Welsh and English. I am currently in my seventh year of teaching. Teaching primary aged children requires the understanding that not all children learn at the same pace, the same way and requires an understanding of how children learn best.
I adopt a friendly, patient and informal approach to my teaching. When children feel comfortable and happy they are much more likely to learn and most importantly retain the knowledge that they have gained. My first session will include a discussion with the tutee or/and parents to determine what assistance is needed. Information parents receive through end of year reports and test results will be used to develop an individual learning plan for the child. As children learn in different ways and are capable of achieving different levels, my first step is to try a range of approaches to find out which will work best and adapt the session to meet the specific needs of the individual. The child is central to any plan put in place.
