This is how 2 referees rated Mary:
I am highly skilled, recently retired, Primary school teacher with many years teaching experience. I have tutored many KS2 and KS1 pupils in schools in English and Maths individually. Outside school hours, I have taught children of all Primary ages, on a one-to-one basis, to increase their reading, writing and maths skills. I help children revise and reinforce concepts so they can achieve in SATS and 11+
I also have specialist knowledge of teaching English as an Additional Language and in supporting children with dyslexia(SpLD)
I teach children from 5 to 11 years, early reading skills including phonics, to develop their ability as a writer and help them to understand and progress in maths. I teach children in my home or their home (up to 5 miles from Saltford), enabling them to grow in confidence and fill any gaps from the curriculum. My pupils have made significant progress and successfully caught up with their peers, able to achieve national expected levels in both English and Maths.
I provide exciting and targeted lessons to teach children to become confident readers, writers and extend their numeracy. I focus on the specific individual needs of each child and use many games to reinforce concepts taught in an amusing way. My aim is to build confidence and make learning fun!

Mary is calm, caring and professional and we would definitely recommend her. We are very grateful for her support with Poppy’s literacy, which we are likely to call upon in the future.
Thank you so much Mary
