Personal Description:

Graduating in 2006 with a 2:1 BAHons degree in Music Composition from Dartington College of Arts. Furthermore, I have studied at Stadia Institue of Pop and Jazz Music in Helsinki, Finland.

I am a skilled contemporary composer. Following graduation I have worked with mixed-media artists developing my strengths as both a performer, arranger and composer. As well as music I have a keen passion for lyricism and creative writing. I take inspiration for classic literature and modern poetry.

Tutoring Experience:

The workshops and individual one-to-one classes I deliver encompass the following ares: songwriting, guitar tuition, creative writing.

Teaching guitar and songwriting to students we focus on developing technique and learning material and skills which engage the student, whether playing Jazz, Blues or Rock. Within all my lessons I strive to teach the essential concepts of effortless mastery, playing without pain and discomfort.

I regularly devise and deliver workshops for both children and adults who are keen to 'unlock' their creativity. I have worked in partnership with the English Folk Dance and Song Society and most currently have a six month residency delivering workshops for the local residential community based around at South Kilburn Studios.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is tailored specifically for the needs of each of my students, and rooted within a creative, nurturing and friendly ethos. I am personable and attentive to students needs, adeptly noticing strengths and areas which would benefit from development.

Both in a large workshop environment and in more personal one-to-one sessions I ensure the learning process and objectives are clear and that the student is comfortable and happy.
