I'm a qualified teacher of over 4 years, teaching Chemistry as my specialism. I am also an examiner working for 3 of the major exam boards, and have been for over 3 years now. I have taught across all the sciences at GCSE, with Chemistry, Biology and Physics at A Level. I have a first-class honours degree in Biology from Northumbria University. I have an enhanced DBS, which is available on request.
I teach individually or in groups that are no bigger than 5, making sure the students get the maximum amount of my time. Group bookings will be discounted, as well as discount when wanting over 1 hour per week.
Outside of work, I enjoy many different sports as well in my spare time, with a great love for football and rugby.
I am a full time teacher in a secondary school in the North East, teaching GCSE and A Level Sciences. I have also been a tutor for 6 years now.
Throughout GCSE, A Level and first and second year degree level I have helped anyone that needed help, often starting study groups for the former, with gaining a list of tutees which I have helped to reach their expected grade.
With my teaching experience, I have taught a range of abilities and needs, and I am qualified in teaching pupils with SEN requirements, such as autism, as well as GAT pupils.
I have a range of materials that I have built up from tutoring and teaching, and it is the use of these that I feel help my pupils excel. I have powerpoints, revision notes and worksheets that I will provide on request. It is important to me that my students get all the information they need.
I like to know my tutees strengths and weaknesses, and how they approach revision before I immediately start. Identifying weaknesses is the main point for the revision, as if students struggle, they tend not to revise completely, if at all. After identifying weaknesses, sessions will be made to improve these weaknesses.
Sessions on past exam papers will be essential on recieving a good mark, and help on how to tackle questions will be included, such as timing and length. Coping with time is a massive problem for students doing exams, and proactive use of time is needed for a successful pass. Marking of exam questions will also be included.
