I am a doctor working at Southampton General Hospital and I am offering help with UCAS applications to medical school. I can help with interview skills, personal statements and general advice on your application.
I was involved in the medical admissions process at Cardiff University, as a member of interview panels for undergraduate medical applicants. I have been advising students on UCAS applications for a number of years, and I have given a number of mock interviews to sixth form students.
I also teach medical students on a regular basis at Southampton University, doing small group tutorials in pathology.
I approach your application by assessing where you are currently, and tailoring my advice to any areas for improvement. This can include recommending further developments such as gaining more work experience, suggesting ways to improve the personal statement, or improving your interview technique. I will also discuss common questions that are asked, giving an approach to tackling difficult questions. I can also give tuition on areas such as medical ethics, which is a common theme in interviews and is frequently misunderstood by applicants.
