I studied Classics at Oxford where I gained a Double First and also won two University prizes awarded by competitive examination. I later studied Theology at Cambridge. Since then I have worked primarily as a minister of the Methodist Church but also for a while as a computer programmer with a commercial company. I have always kept up my love of Latin and Greek language and literature and now that I am retired I welcome any opportunity to teach them.
Teaching in some form has been a regular part of my life. For some years I was a part-time lecturer in Church history at Cliff College in Derbyshire and later served as a tutor in New Testament studies on the North-East Ordination Course.
I aim to make any subject as interesting and enjoyable as possible. I have wide experience of relating easily to people of all sorts and ages. I have two children and six grandchildren.
