I am a university lecturer (Reader level as of October 1; http://www.ucl.ac.uk/archaeology/people/staff/altaweel) who works in Archaeology but has many years of experience in the sciences, including geographical, historical, computational, geological, and the general sciences. I apply these areas in my university teaching and research. I also worked for many years at a government laboratory as a computational scientist, giving me extensive experience in IT and computing such as computer languages (Java, C, C++, etc.), web development, and other areas.
I have tutored on and off for many years since I was in college. I am now a university lecturer and teacher who teaches for a profession. I have extensive experience in teaching multiple areas including in the computing, geographical, historical, and the sciences. I have experience creating advanced lessons in these areas, including hands on practicals engaging students to be better prepared for subject areas. I generally have had very high marks in my teaching feedback from students, averaging about 4.5 out of 5.0 scale in feedback forms. I have extensive teaching in one on one sessions as well as larger classes.
My approach is proactive learning where I present instruction materials but then engage students with dialogue and provide examples and exercises to better engage the student. This includes creating short tests, small software modules designed to test student knowledge, and practicals that challenge students to be creative and apply their knowledge beyond simple memorization.
