I am a B.Ed graduate with nearly 30 years experience in the primary sector. I am well travelled and most of my experience has been in International schools as well as more recently teaching for more than a decade in a Perthshire Independent School.
I am happy to travel further than 10 miles but would require travel expenses. (40p a mile)
I am a well-qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and successful teacher and have educated children of all ages and abilities in the primary sector. I have taught all subjects of the Primary Curriculum in whole class, group and individual situations.
I am still a current member of The General Teaching Council of Scotland.
It is important to establish a calm, patient and organised learning environment for the pupil. It is essential to identify the gaps in the children’s understanding and move on from there, developing a greater understanding and fostering increased confidence.
Every learner is an individual and has strengths and weaknesses, I would therefore adapt my teaching style to suit your child’s needs and use a variety of approaches to support them.
Confidence can be a key element in developing a child’s skills; I would promote this through structured and meaningful sessions whilst mindful that lessons should also be fun.
