I am 34, I am French and I have settled in England. I spend a lot of time reading. I am talkative and easy going, very enthusiastic about the subjects I teach.
I studied at Birmingham and worked there as a French language assistant in two secondary schools. My work there entailed my being responsible for teaching small groups of students and, at times, work alongside the teacher in the classroom. I learnt how to adapt my teaching to different groups and different situations regarding the topics I was asked to cover.
I have been working as a private tutor for 12 years now.
In France, I was employed by two agencies as a private tutor. I taught French and English to students aged from 7 to 18 years old and this helped me develop and enhance my skills and abilities.
For 3 years, I worked as a French Language assistant in a sixth form where I teach AS and A2 students on a one to one basis. I was responsible for preparing for their French speaking exam. Every week, I planned lessons and adapted myself to each student since we were lucky enough to offer them an individual time with me to speak and listen thus developing, enhancing and strengthening their oral skills to aim for the highest possible mark.
I work with the students, meaning I listen to them, to what they think and know, how they work in class and alone at home. I always ask them about what their assets and their weak points, targeting those as I plan my lessons.
I tailor my lessons to each student and their needs because everyone is different. This allows the students to improve both their abilities and their self confidence. Showing them during my lessons that they can reach for the best is my goal. Building and developing self confidence is essential.
I do not own a car and am self-employed. I teach from my house.
