My approach to tutoring is to work alongside the pupil, encouraging them to learn and solve problems with support and advice. The method's I have used are as follows - Introduction and setting context of lesson, questioning and drawing out of new language items and making their meaning clear to student by using clear contexts and asking concept questions. The student will then be encouraged to practice oral and written controlled practice material. Finally, the student will be encouraged to drop the new language item into their pool of language they have already acquired and formulate their own ideas.
