I am an extremely versatile educator who has taken the opportunity to teach a wide variety of students from various different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Someone who considers herself to be a life-long learner, I love reading about the great civilisations of antiquity and travelling, in order to know more about different countries and cultures. I also enjoy writing poetry and performing spoken word.
A highly qualified teaching professional, I possess a BA (Honours) and MA in English Literature as well as a PGCE and Trinity TESOL Certificate. I am a bright, positive, and committed individual with over nine years’ teaching experience (including 5 years of tutoring experience). My specialist subjects are English primary (KS1 & KS2), secondary English (KS3 & KS4 GCSE), EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
I offer unparalleled dedication to facilitating the learning process of students in a way that inspires academic confidence and improved scholastic ability.
I always seek to tap into the intrinsic motivation of the learner with a creative, motivational and dynamic teaching style. I believe that learning should be fun and fulfilling.
An essential element of my teaching philosophy is the belief that a positive rapport between the teacher and learner is integral to creating environmental conditions conducive for learning. It is important that learners feel they can take risks in their learning without fear of making mistakes. It is my belief that errors present an opportunity for growth and more thoughtful learning rather than reflect a learner's deficient scholastic ability.
