This is how 3 referees rated Maisie:
My passion for teaching was ignited through the prospect of working with children, being such an important part of a child’s life, is a real honour. I thoroughly enjoyed school and was stunned by my teacher who provided many outstanding lessons which have been bought forward into my future. I believe primary school teaching is the single most important profession in the world - teachers pass on knowledge and values to children, prepare them for further education and for working life and are main contributors to good education. The primary school years not only provide the academic foundations that shape pupils future, but also their attitudes towards schooling, which can affect their future careers and their ability to socialise. It is therefore essential that the pupils enjoy their education and achieve their potential, both of which I want to help them achieve.
During my degree I have undertaken practices in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. These include schools in outer city deprived areas and a school in the Isle of Man. Since qualifying in 2012 - I have mainly taught in Key Stage 2 - year 3 through to year 6! I believe a combination of these factors provides me with a secure and in depth knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a primary school teacher and what I can offer the children that I teach.
I have a student centred approach to teaching - the pupils strengths and weaknesses are of key focus as these need to be established and built upon. Teaching should be inspiring and creative - making learning fun and memorable.
