I graduated from University of San Francisco (USF) with a B.S in Biology, and minors in both Neuroscience, and Chemistry. During my sophomore year at USF I was invited to join the Honors in Humanities Program. During this time I tutored undergraduate students, in Organic Chemistry I-II, Genetics, Anatomy, Psychology, Biology, and Immunology. Immediately after graduating I began working at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) as a staff research associate. While there, I continued to tutor as well as volunteer and take classes at UC Berkeley, and UCLA extension. Now I am currently in medical school at Keele University entering my second year.
I have been tutoring since I became an undergraduate. In total I have tutored 10 university students. I tutored most of them starting from their first year of undergraduate until they graduated. The subjects were Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I,II, Biology, Psychology, Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Cell Physiology, Parasitology, and paper editing.
I have always had a passion for teaching especially for that wonderful moment that your tutee suddenly understands a subject they had previously been struggling with.
I believe how one learns and retains information is very individual. Therefore, before we begin, I always take time to understand how to make the most beneficial lesson plans for each individual. This allows me to tailor how I tutor in order to create an effective and nurturing environment. I believe, given the right teaching style, everyone has the capability to learn, and exceed at, any subject. It is my goal to nurture that ability in each person I tutor!
In the end I hope to be confidant, a friend, and to make learning fun!!
