I am an experienced business owner with over 20 years of work in successful businesses within all aspects of hands-on start-up, growth and then through to successful negotiation of a profitable sale. On leaving University in 1986 with a BSc in Business Institutional Management I joined larger companies to gain experience and also study for my postgraduate Personnel Qualification (CIPD). In 1994 and in 1995 I was awarded Branch Manager of the Year for the London South Region for Abbey National plc and was then promoted to an Area Sales Manager - I was their youngest ever ASM and one of very few women at the level. In 1996 I chose to leave to start up my first company. Between 1996 - 1999 I was a freelance trainer and facilitator and then in 1999 I established The Training Shop and online deliverer of bespoke trainer training and training products. I sold this company in 2011. In between time I established a need and then launched a deli/wine shop as a new business in a Cotswold village which I sold in 2004. I have also planned and managed a large property/planning development project. I now own and run a tourism styled business -Removed I have also published a Children's book - Removed - and been awarded a presentation read and engage session at Hay Literary Festival 2014 with an audience of 100. My profile picture is taken from a recent BBC TV programme shown on BBC 2 on 9th February 2015 being interviewed in connection with my current business.
20 years as a qualified trainer and developer of people skills and knowledge. My teaching/training/coaching style is one of relating practical experience/examples to theory and assisting the tutee to develop the theory into real life successes.
During my many years in business I have gained vast experience in website management, online growth, use of social network marketing and many other aspects of day-to-day business management in the 21st Century. Not only can I assist you in P&L assessment and management but also in how to take the figures and make them real and improve. I look for trends in business and maximise identify any potential growth areas both in theory and practice.
My style of tutoring is one of using accelerated learning techniques to assist the tutee to be able to relate theory to practice. I like to be able to help tutees turn the intangible into tangible learning by asking the "so what" questions? What does this mean for you and business and how can it assist with the success of your learning.
