I am a Biomedical Science Graduate who believes that learning should be as unique as the student involved. I thrive of seeing students excel and gain confidence in their work.
I place high value on a teacher student relationship where the student can comfortably tell the teacher what they do not understand as opposed to feeling like they're expected to know everything.
Taught A level Biology and all sciences KS4 and KS3 in a college, and have been tutoring for the past five years. I have also worked with Special Needs and children with EBD and seen them transform in their academics.
Homeostasis nightclub? Racist lipid bilayer? Gangsters and hippies electron sharing? Introduce a fun new innovative spin on subjects that seem otherwise mundane and monotonous to many students. Lessons are tailored to each individual student to focus on their strengths and weaknesses. Often put the spotlight on the student and ask them to explain to me what they understand, thus causing them to exercise their memory, crucial for exams, and consolidate their knowledge. It also increases their confidence in their learning.
