I received my Post Graduate Degree in Primary Education in 2009. I am an approachable, dedicated and hardworking individual who is highly motivated to be the best that I can be with the children that I teach. I strive to bring out the best in the children under my care.
I was trained through The University of Strathclyde using ‘A Curriculum for Excellence’. I am focused on continuing to use this framework to ensure my pupils are EC, RC, CI, SL. I use active learning approaches in my teaching across the curriculum. This year I am responsible for the teaching and planning of a primary 7 class, however I have previously taught across all primary stages. I am committed to continually improving my skills and knowledge at any given opportunity through attending relevant courses and participating in professional reading, Doing so allows me to be up to date with all current issues and relevant literature and initiatives related to education.
I use a range of formative assessment strategies to support teaching and learning. I believe that active learning approaches have the children engaged in their learning and gives them a richer learning experience, giving children the best opportunities to be successful, confident individuals. In discussion with your child and yourself I will devise an individual plan that will meet your child’s specific needs.
