English (Foreign Language)
I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language teacher since 2006 including in Spain, Italy and the UK. I specialise in business and workplace English, Cambridge exams and academic English courses for university study. I have worked with students from a huge range of nationalities and backgrounds and I am therefore able to employ a wide variety of teaching techniques to suit different learning styles. I have recently completed my Masters degree in Audiovisual Translation Studies (Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish to English). This ensures I have an enhanced knowledge and sensitivity to the issues encountered when translating ideas from one's mother tongue into English.
I am DELTA-qualified with ten years of experience working in reputable language schools and on post-graduate pre-sessional English courses at the University of Leeds, along with tutoring individuals in academic, business and general English.
I do not have one specific method as every student is treated as an individual. I will therefore vary my approach to suit different requirements. I truly want to get the best out of students and this will mean, in some cases, giving lots of correction, and in others working with the individual to boost confidence and motivation. I am dedicated to helping learners achieve their linguistic potential and I achieve this through making my lessons interactive, varied and challenging.
