Hey, I’m Luke and I’ve got 3 offers to study medicine at Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham (and was interviewed at Oxford.) I’m an all-rounder, excelling in both Science (Biology/Chemistry) and English.
Having recently got 3*s at A-Level and 10 9s at GCSEs, I know the markschemes and syllabus’ inside out. I know how harsh markschemes can be (especially A-Level Biology!) and so I can not only help you to understand content, but teach you how to secure marks in papers to get you the grade you deserve.
I'm an experience and trained tutor currently working for MyTutor as an online 1-2-1 tutor for GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English (literature and language) and have experience tutoring A-Level students in Biology, Chemistry and English Literature both in-person and online. I also am doing private tuition both online and in-person with other agencies for the same subjects.
Due to COVID-19, I know many students have missed out on learning, so my prices are flexible and I am willing to lower if you cannot afford the listed fees, just get in touch. I have 3 offers to study medicine at Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham and also was interviewed at Oxford with a UCAT score in the top 3%. I know just how hard Science and English GCSE/A-Level can be, but I believe that having recently achieved all A*s at A-Level and 9s and GCSE, I can share with you invaluable explanations, techniques and mark-scheme 'cheats' to secure you the grades you aspire for!
Tailored based on whatever you need. Whether it be tutoring on a regular basis for the entire course, or just a couple of sessions to grasp a particularly difficult topic. For Biology/Chemistry A-Level and GCSE, I use a very mark-scheme approached focus, since this will ultimately get you the highest grade (speaking from experience). For English Literature, more of a discussion and exploration of ideas to unlock key interpretations, as well as exam and essay technique.
People are starting to see the benefits of online learning during these periods of lockdown. I have always thought there are many advantages to online learning. For example, everything is in one place (lesson notes, resources, questions etc) which is more organised than having loads of sheets. It means if you want to refer back to something from a lesson, you can simply search your laptop/tablet rather than trying to find a sheet of paper. It sometimes is harder to build a working relationship with the student, but inevitably happens over time. The only drawback is for effective online learning, a laptop/computer/tablet would be needed.
