This is how 3 referees rated Luiz:
Brazilian classical guitarist Luiz has experience as a classical guitar teacher chamber musician, soloist and researcher.
In 2011, he was awarded with a full scholarship to the Bachelor of Music (Honours) in
Performance course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under guidance of Allan Neave and theorbo with Jamie Akers.
As researcher, he wrote the paper called "O Nacionalismo Musical na Obra de Manuel de Falla e Federico Garcia Lorca” (The Musical Nationalism in Manuel de Falla and Federico Garcia Lorca works), published in the Portuguese magazine
He is part of the Mediterranean Duo, which is a project focused on Spanish Music and the Chororo Ensemble, focused on Brazilian Music.
He also integrates the RCS' baroque ensemble, playing theorbo, and also works frequently with the Music of Spheres Consort…
As a teacher, he worked with different kind of students, from children (Villa-Lobos Museum) and regular teacher at the FAETEC (Support Foundation to Technical School), teaching students of a wide age range (from youngsters to elderly) and with music workshops for people under chemical dependence in a rehab clinic (Franco Basaglia Institution).
In my classes, theory and practice go together and every exercise is carefully explained about how to do it and why to do it.
I strongly believe in the importance of pure technique exercises and music theory notions, in order to make the student evolve, no matter in which level the student is or what kind of repertoire he wants to play.
