Hello, I am a qualified and practicing Secondary School Teacher of Mathematics and Doctor of Cognitive Neuroscience. I have 6 years of teaching experience with 11 - 18 year olds, KS 3 and GCSE OCR, Edexcel and AQA and 3 years of Lecturing Statistics and Psychology. I have also been a GCSE exam marker for 2 years and a private tutor for 2 years.
I am a creative and inspiring Teacher of Mathematics. I enjoy working as a class teacher and one-to-one as a tutor. I work hard to motivate students to achieve their very best and have helped numerous students through their GCSE. I have been on CPD courses tailored to the new GCSE curriculum, helping me teach the new content and approaches required for the new specifications. I have my own resources and classroom at home. Although I am happy to travel to you if within reasonable distance. I have availability weekday evenings from 4pm and Weekends. If you would prefer online tutoring, I do also offer sessions over Skye at a discounted price. If you would like a joint lesson then I also offer discounts for this. Please get in touch for more information.
I understand the importance of the key skills in Maths, which pop up across so many different topics. Once these are engrained, students must get accustomed to applying these to any situation, working out for themselves which skills are required as GCSE questions are much more open and unstructured now. It is also crucial for students to be able to confidently approach integrated and problem solving questions, given the new GCSE specifications. My goal is to facilitate confidence, enjoyment, resilience and determination in students.
