I love teaching and interacting with students. I am a strong believer in the importance of education in a society, and teaching has provided me with my most rewarding professional experiences. The knowledge is only valuable if shared. Teaching also complements research because it forces a more thorough understanding of the topic at hand, and research is an important part of my educational adventure. In my free time, I enjoy travelling and discovering new places. I'm a happy go lucky person always ready to help and advise!
I'm a university lecturer currently solely responsible for designing and delivering the following modules: World Cultural History, Regional History, European History 1918-1956, Introduction to Philosophy and Critical Thinking, Gender and Culture and Modern Media and Communication modules. I have an experience of teaching various History modules both within a higher education institution and a sixth form college. My degree has trained me to cover Social Science and Humanities, and my subject specialism is History and History of Philosophy and Ethics and with an elective in Cultural History. I have also studied Politics and Journalism in addition to my core subjects. After obtaining the first class degree I moved onto the Masters course (Philosophy) and in 2008 started a PhD in History (awarded 2012). I have also obtained a PGCE which makes a fully qualified teacher.
I see myself as resourceful and imaginative teaching professional knowledgeable in a wide array of humanistic disciplines. I want to believe that I have a talent for installing learning appreciation, and promoting creativity and open-mindedness. I always make my best to offer individualised support and provide positive encouragement to ensure each student succeeds. Also, a collaborative educator, with great communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate and sustain within the teaching community.
