I currently work as a vision impairment teacher and until moving to Bristol, I was an SEN advisor in Oxford. I am passionate about helping children to reach their full potential and helping family's to get the support they need. I love walking, swimming and currently entertaining my new kittens !

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced primary teacher and SEN advisor having worked for local authorities for the last ten years. I advise and model strategies for play and communication, prepare reports to support funding and EHCP applications, support settings and schools including leading SEN support plan meetings. I co-ordinate support between services and make sure targets are being met. I work with families at home as well as visiting schools and settings.

Tutoring Approach

My ethos is child-centred. Engaging a child in their learning and helping them want to learn / play/ communicate, underpins intrinsically motivated learning. I believe in creating the time and the space to do this by using motivating materials and methods which are balanced between a structured approach and learning through play.
