Hi, my name is Louisa. I graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea in 2002 with an LLB (Hons) and went on to gain a Distinction in my PGCE(FE) from the University of Wales, Cardiff. I have worked in a number of Further Education colleges and Sixth Forms teaching Law to a raneg of students at all different levels. My favourite area of the law is Criminal and I enjoy reading and watching programmes that have an element of crime or policing.
I have 10 years teaching experience, teaching a wide range of subjects including AS and A-Level Law, as well as HNC/D Legal Studies, Paralegal Qualifications and Access courses. I am also an experienced examiner for the WJEC exam board and have been involved in developing resources for them to help teachers of law. I am also co-author of WJEC AS Law: A Study and Revision Guide as well as its A2 successor on Criminal law and Justice.
I have vast tutoring experience, and have been very successful in my approach. Every student I have tutored has ended up with a Grade A at A-Level. I am able to tutor on a one to one basis or in small groups. If you prefer a small group, I will change my rates accordingly to make it more value for money. I have a good understanding of examination requirements and will therefore approach my tutoring sessions from an examiner's point of view, giving students the opportunity to complete past papers, look at model answers and plan essays. I use a number of activities which are particularly useful in helping students to learn legal authority; by far the most difficult aspect of studying Law at any level. You will have access to resources including essay plans, spider diagrams and revision activities which will be the secret to your success in gaining a good grade in your examination.
