Louisa

I studied French and Spanish at Oxford University, where I received a Distinction in Spoken French and Spanish. I also trained at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq drama school in Paris, completing the two year Professional Course in 2013. My interests include theatre, film, poetry and literature.

Tutoring Experience

I taught English in Argentina for six months in 2010, but have been tutoring French, Spanish, Italian and Drama on and off from 2008. Some of my tutoring has been exam preparation based (such as that for French and Spanish) or in order for the tutee to maintain an interest in the subject.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the most important thing about tutoring is that the classes are geared towards the individual. I aim to appeal to each tutee in order to focus in on their particular strengths and weaknesses, endeavouring to make the experience as fun and appealing as possible. Languages, English and Drama are all my passions, and so the chance to share and encourage the particular individual really appeals to me. With a topic as broad as Modern Languages - which demand the tutee to develop their speaking, listening and written skills, I believe that an innovative way of teaching is required. I like to make the experience as topical as possible, using newspaper articles, video clips, and scenes from plays for example to keep the individual interested and get them using some new vocabulary.
