Hi I’m Lou, a qualified Maths teacher with 13 years experience of teaching GCSE and A level Maths. I was also head of Maths for 6 years and am still currently an examiner for OCR. Problems with Maths, mental blocks and low Maths esteem are unique to the student and small class sizes and one to one support are vital to kicking obstacles out of the way in order to thrive in the beautiful subject! I currently have some spaces for AS Maths and GCSE Maths online so do get in touch if you need support from an experienced coach.

Tutoring Experience

An experienced and qualified teacher of Maths for 13 years, examiner for Edexcel and OCR and recently Head of Maths in a busy High School for 6 years. My role as Head of Maths was primarily to structure provision of Maths to make sure all students enjoyed and excelled in Maths whatever their level but I was also responsible for training Maths teachers, coaching qualified Maths teachers and developing the curriculum to give the best possible opportunities to our students.

Tutoring Approach

Online only, in small groups, my classes are aimed at boosting grades, improving confidence and making enjoyment of Maths possible for students who have previously struggled. Students learn from each other; not just the short cuts to get something done but also that mistakes are part of the learning process not a cause for alarm. My lessons are fun, targeted at the individual and designed to be stretching for everyone. All students get one to one support as needed, including outside of lessons within reason along with free resources and in-depth marking.
