Personal Description:

I am a friendly, enthusiastic, qualified professional maths teacher, who strongly believes that everyone can do maths with the right help.
It is my passion to help students build their confidence and interest in maths. I find it very rewarding to watch my students make progress and reach their full potential. I am committed to help them achieve their desired results in examinations.
I prepare students to sit their SATs, GCSE/IGCSE and A-level maths examinations. I also provide one-to-one and **Contact Detail Removed**s to help students catch up or exceed on the curriculum.

Tutoring Experience:

My students 2016 maths results:
100% pass rate for both A-level and GCSE! 50% achieved A/A*
A-level maths:
A*/A 3 students
B 2 students
C 1 student
GCSE maths:
A*/ A 5 students
B 3 students
C. 1 student
I am a qualified secondary maths teacher and I have been working in four public secondary schools in Hampshire. This has enabled me to be very familiar with current maths curriculum. I have built a large knowledgebase from my teaching career including modern online interactive teaching resources suitable for different ages and abilities.
In addition, I have experience in working with students who have learning difficulties or special education needs.
My subject knowledge is very strong. I have obtained A* in GCSE Maths, A* in A-level Maths, a BSc Maths degree from University of Bath and a Postgraduate degree in Education from University of Southampton.

Tutoring Approach:

Each individual student progresses at his/her own pace. Unfortunately, to teach a normal-sized class with 25-30 students in a public school, a teacher is simply not able to provide detailed differentiation to every single child. As a result, many students begin to lose confidence and interest in maths.
My tutoring approach uses a tried and tested student centred, active learning approach. Each student’s current level is assessed and a learning plan is made according to the student'€™s unique needs. I like to use interesting activities such as quizzes, games and puzzles to build students’ interests in maths. Explanations and exam skills will be delivered as clear as possible, with problems broken down to tasks that suit each individual’s ability. I like to encourage students to build problem solving skills so that they become independent learners and have learning skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
