This is how a referee rated Liam:
English (Foreign Language)
I am currently studying at East 15 Acting School on the BA Acting and Community Theatre course. I have been involved in acting from a young age and look forward to spending another 3 years learning about my craft. I have traveled to Uganda where I taught English for a year, and then journeyed back overland through the Balkans and Western Europe to Britain. I am consider myself very approachable and patient and have a great passion for teaching. I am organised and have a strong work ethic.
I have taught abroad in Uganda for 1 year teaching primary school students English as a foreign language. To further and expand my knowledge of teaching I have completed my CELTA training. The practical way in which I was taught meant that I got a further 1 months practice in lesson environment. This qualification is highly regarded in the Teaching English as a Foreign Language profession.
I believe it is important to keep the teaching very student centered and will always en devour to adjust my lesson plans for a students particular needs. I feel it essential to keep a good report with my students, which was one of my major strengths during my training. This is important because the more the student trusts the teacher the easier they will find it to learn. I will teach from any given coursebook but also have a back up of my own teaching resources for additional support. I provide a myriad of different task to allow the student to develop a well round knowledge of the English language. These include: speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.
