I have recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Bath. I have many years experience working with all age groups. I am enthusiastic about the subjects I teach and hope to pass that enthusiasm onto others.
I teach Maths at GCSE Level, as well as at A Level.
I have worked as a tutor for the past few years, helping them with concepts in mathematics and the sciences, to help them pass their exams. This has been at levels ranging from GCSE through to University level.
I have also had experience working as an assistant teacher in a number of primary and secondary schools, helping me gain experience with teaching.
I have taught and worked with all age groups for the past 6 years as a scout and explorer scout leader, encouraging exploration and understanding of the world around them.
I have taught scouts how to swim, rock climb, canoe, and many other skills. As with anything, a bit of guidance and encouragement can turn a daunting task into something fun, exciting and enjoyable.
I am a very calm and patient tutor, focusing on understanding the subject rather than simply memorising facts.
I have found that as everyone thinks in different ways, a variety of approaches are necessary to help explain how maths works. There are always different ways of solving the same problems.
I aim to regularly talk with the tutee to find which areas they feel that they are strongest and weakest in, and build the confidence that they need to do well in their subject.
