Information About Lesley - Prescot tutor - (6 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Lesley:
I am 59 years old and have been a teacher for 37 years and have taught Mathematics for 29 years. I am a mother of 2 boys and live on the outskirts of South Liverpool. I have recently retired from teaching in schools but I am keen not to give up teaching pupils.
I have been a teacher for 37 years and have taught Mathematics for 29 years. I have worked in an inner city school teaching boys and girls from 11-18 years. I am particularly good at teaching less able pupils and getting them through GCSE exams at foundation level but I have taught pupils up to grade C also.
I have been a private tutor for about 20 years concentrating on year 6 pupils wanting to pass entrance exams for particular schools. My pass rate is 99%. I have also tutored pupils who needed extra help with their GCSE work and this too was at foundation level.
I firmly believe that everyone can achieve in Mathematics, and I know that some pupils have ‘failed’ because of the teaching they have had. I also believe that achieving in Mathematics is firmly connected to having the confidence in one’s own ability and I plan my lessons to build the confidence in my pupils so that they can achieve. My aim is to break down the ‘wall’ (of self doubt) that has been built by the pupil and give them help to get over it!
