I am an enthusiastic Year 4 teacher currently teaching at Windmill Primary School in Oxford. My passions are sport, music and education. Prior to teaching I worked in international development for Oxfam and have volunteered for various other charities over the years.
I have approximately 6 years of teaching and tutoring experience in a range of environments and with a very broad range of students. I initially trained as a PE teacher but moved into primary school teaching shortly after completing my PGCE. More recently I've been the primary school PE adviser for Sussex which has involved teaching and mentoring teachers.
Coming from a PE and sporting background, I love to make my sessions active and kinaesthetic. My approach is to compliment what is being taught at school, sometimes pre-teaching if parents have been given access to curriculum plans. I like to ensure my sessions are not viewed as 'more school' by the student and that they actually look forward to them.
