Experienced professional maths tutor with daytime and some evening availability.
I really enjoy helping people to understand and enjoy mathematics, especially those who initially struggle with A level and GCSE. It is very satisfying to see their enthusiasm and confidence grow!
My experience includes working as a government statistician, computer programming and mathematical modelling for oil exploration. I also enjoy recruiting and coaching high performing graduates to perform well in their careers.
Many of my former tutees have had great success and secured university places or passed GCSEs or 11+ tests.
I tutor new syllabus A level and GCSE Maths, and for re-takes I tutor "old" modules C1, C2, C3, C4, S1 and D1.
I also have experience with the numeracy test for prospective teachers, and undergraduate statistics modules. I am happy to consider other qualifications - please just ask!
I also enjoy tutoring on a voluntary basis for a charity which specialises in providing Mathematics and English tuition to school students who are preparing for GCSEs.
I know that some people find Mathematics to be a challenging subject, and that this can cause them to lose confidence in their abilities.
My own challenge is to find out how best to communicate mathematical concepts and find ways to improve the understanding, accuracy and confidence of the students. And to try to make it enjoyable!
