This is how 2 referees rated Lee:
I am currently working as Head of Physics and Triple Science coordinator at an 11-18 school in Warrington and have had real success with students, across the ability range. I am able to support students who are finding this difficult subject challenging but also able to push those students who want to achieve the highest grades.
In terms of GCSE Science, I teach all three Sciences (including Triple Science in Physics) to GCSE level, having experience of teaching OCR 21st Century Science, AQA Science and Edexcel Science courses.
I have been teaching A Level Physics for 7 years and have worked with students across the ability range.
I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching Physics for 7 years now. I have been Head of Physics for the last 5 years and am well aware of the demands and content of the various exam boards.
Perhaps most importantly, as an employed teacher I am up to date with changes to specifications and can teach specific aspects such as coursework preparation. I was the lead teacher in my previous school regarding the completion of A Level 'ISA's' (if you follow the AQA syllabus) and have been building up resources and approaches to the OCR Advancing Physics specification since September 2011.
I believe that tutoring is about identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the tutees and building confidence through gradual success. If someone is committed enough to the subject in order to look for a tutor, they must have an inherent interest and drive to succeed.
I use a range of practical approaches, including analysing exam papers and mark schemes, putting together quality revision materials and focusing on key examination skills.
I have a supportive, individualistic approach to tutoring.
