I am a friendly teacher who always wants to the best for all learners. As a current Head of Humanities I am very passionate particularly about the teaching of History and love all aspects of it. I am responsible for the achievement in History, Geography, RE and Business Studies. I am particularly interested in developing pupils' source skills and ability to understand key concepts. I love travelling and seeing places of historical interest.
I have been teaching for 8 years in a range of Secondary schools across London and I am currently a Head of Humanities in an all boys school. I have taught up to A Level throughout my career and in my current role am responsible for the school's entire Humanities results. I have also done a range of exam marking for different exam boards to help improve my understanding of public examinations. I have had experience developing underachieving students and have used a range of methods to help raise achieving in a range of contexts including, one-on-one, whole class and across a year group.
I have a personable approach and want the students to get as much out of the tutoring as possible, this is why I think it is important to tailor each session to the individual's need. Considering the teaching that is being done within the students' school is also important as I will look to find ways to support this learning while also developing skills that are potentially missing.
