Information About Laurie - Leyland tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Laurie:
I am an experienced primary school teacher, who delivers the highest quality of one-to-one tutoring. I am a patient, caring person who delights in seeing children develop at their own pace and understand new concepts. I have successfully tutored for a variety of different needs; these include confidence building, passing of entrance exams, supporting SATs revision (KS1 and KS2) and general extra help with English and Maths at school.
I am a qualified primary school teacher currently teaching in Year 2 at a local primary school and have a bachelor of Education degree. I tutor children from KS1 up to KS2 in English (Reading, Writing and Grammar) and Mathematics. I have experience tutoring children of varying abilities including those who are gifted and talented. I also teach children who have English as an additional language and pupil's with special educational needs who require additional support at home to access the curriculum.
I have a child centered approach, assessing the needs of individual children and then building my lessons around those needs. The National Curriculum aims are very important for schools and I have many resources directly linking to this. I have up to date and thorough knowledge of both KS1 and KS2 SATS and would be able to support your child through these. I will plan for your child depending on their learning style and to ensure that your child's progress is accelerated.
My aim is to help every child I teach to reach their full potential academically.
At the end of all tutoring 1:1 sessions I will provide you with a full update of what was covered in the lesson, any homework tasks set and when our next lesson will be.
