Information About Lauren - Bristol tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Lauren:
I am a very passionate PhD chemist with an enthusiasm for research and teaching. I achieved a 1st class masters degree in Chemistry with industry experience in 2016 from the University of Nottingham and I am now studying for a PhD in chemistry at the University of Bristol.
During my degree I was involved in peer mentoring. I currently demonstrate to first year undergraduates in the lab. This involves explaining practical and theoretical concepts to students. Therefore, I have significant experience of teaching both theory and laboratory based practical science. During my A levels I also mentored younger pupils in the school that were struggling with maths.
I believe the approach towards tutoring varies depending on the pupil and try my best to adapt my teaching method accordingly. I enjoy coming up with new and fun ways to explain difficult concepts to ensure that the pupil has a full understanding and also enjoys the subject!
