Personal Description:

I currently work at Treliske Hospital as chief Cardiac Physiologist, and therefore have proof of a full CRB check. I feel that the patience required in this role is transferable to tutoring. My role at the hospital includes Training and Development Lead; which involves training the cardiographers and lecturing nurses. Outside of work, I love sports, mainly including netball, running and snowboarding. I love travelling and have travelled extensively around Asia, Australasia, Africa and Europe.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a very motivational and sucessful tutor, and this is evident in the fact all of my students at work have gained a first in their degrees, and all of the cardiographers that I have trained to date have passed their desired exams. I achieved the top mark in my school for my maths GCSE at the age of 15, and also gained a further GCSE in statistics and an A level in maths. I have so far tutored five young ladies in A level Biology, and felt that I was successful in improving their knowledge and motivation for their exams.

I hope to encourage tutees that they too can be sucessful. I have extensive material available to me in order to assist my tutoring.

With regards to Biology, I have studied this at both A level and degree level, and hope to make this interesting to tutees that hope to gain an achievable grade in this subject.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the ultimate goal in tutoring is for the tutee to fully understand and feel confident in the desired subject, so that they can achieve their optimal grade.

I achieve this by addressing the tutees approach and feelings towards the subject, and through teaching and motivating them to believe in their own ability. An initial assessment of their level of understanding and regular assessments of their progress, aswell as relevant homework will be instrumental in achieving this. The learning, organisational and revision skills I develop will undoubtably improve grades in other areas of study also.
