I am a sociology teacher at a secondary school, teaching GCSE and A Level. I am in my twelfth year of teaching and am very passionate about my subject. I am confident in my subject knowledge and am able to make complex sociological matter accessible for all students which is reflected in their grades.
I teach sociology at GCSE and A Level to students of all abilities. I teach full classes as well as providing smaller groups with revision before exams. My experience is with the AQA specification.
At GCSE I specialise in Media, Crime and Deviance, Social Inequality, Family, Education, Research Methods and Studying Society.
At A Level I specialise in:
AS: Families & Households, Education and Research Methods,
A2: Crime & Deviance and Theory and methods.
I am flexible in my approach to tutoring. I am happy to work with individuals to find a format that works for both of us to ensure it maximises what is gained from it. I will however be prepared fully for all sessions with resources and material to be covered after the initial meeting that addresses what the sessions are for. The most important thing is that I will try to create an environment that is relaxed and comfortable to enable learning.
