Information About Laura - Northampton tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Laura:
I am extremely passionate about the subject of English and I pride myself on self motivation. I enjoy reading gothic literature and this is something that I studied during my English degree, therefore, I am very knowledgeable in this particular area. I am also very enthusiastic about creative writing and I encourage my students to be creative in both story writing and poetry. I am entirely dedicated to teaching English as I thrive on creativity and new challenges.
I am currently embarking on my second year as a qualified teacher. I have had experience teaching both ks3 and ks4. During my teaching of ks3, I have taught a wide range of literature, including the titles: Oliver Twist, Stone Cold and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I have taught a variety of English skills and assessed student’s ability throughout the academic year. In addition to this, I have taught several ks4 classes and successfully guided them through their GCSE year. This opportunity has allowed me to understand the relevant marking criteria and specifications. Therefore, I am confident when teaching both of these key stages.
When teaching any student I pride myself on my professional approach and always remain dedicated to the task in hand. I understand the importance of creating a caring environment, as a result of this,my students are able to feel comfortable enough to discuss any issues relating to their studies.
