I am a teacher with experience in a range of different schools as well as multiple exams boards from KS2 to A level. I have recently returned from teaching in the British School of Panama where I taught Computing and ICT to GCSE via the Cambridge Exam board. Previous to Panama I worked in Bath teaching students predominantly from Year 10 - Year 13 Computing, ICT and Creative media, where my classes had a 100% pass rate. I have extensive knowledge of a range of subjects from my time there leading BTECs which focused on a range of vocational subjects such as Business Studies and Journalism. I am always looking to further my own understanding and practise and as such at the moment I am studying a Masters alongside tutoring. If you would like any more information please ask.
I have experience teaching full classes, small groups and 1:1 from KS2 to A level. I started my career in education through being a teaching support in a special needs school where I supported a range of students with special education needs in a one to one context before studying teaching in Bath Spa University where I taught Computer Science and ICT in a range of state schools from Year 7 to year 12. In Bath I completed tutoring as well as personal coaching sessions to support students in their development and set achievable goals based on targets for future careers.
Since then I have spent a year working internationally in Panama where I taught secondary as well as upper KS2. I also offered English support for students who do not have English as a first language. I have experience leading and interacting with a range of exam boards such as Cambridge, EdExcel and BTEC with ICT, Business and Creative Media subjects. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about your tutoring needs.
Teaching Assistant (1:1)
PGCE with National Qualified Teacher status
Three years teaching ICT, Computing & Creative Media to A level.
Invalidation of Business Studies and Journalism.
Personal Coaching with GCSE students.
One year working with students working in a foreign language.
The most important elements of tutoring are to be sure the sessions are relevant and engaging to the student. I use a range of content to engage the student in tasks related to the national curriculum whilst also discussing and assessing areas with which they may be having problems then allowing me to tailor content to their needs. I find it important to create an environment where the student knows that it is OK to make mistakes and that mistakes are simply a step in progress to understanding.

Still early days, but so far Kurt seems to have engaged with Flynn which is great as at school he really struggles with English and is "switched off". I am sure that Flynn will make good progress with him.
