Personal Description:

I completed my MSc in Education (Learning and Technology) at the University of Oxford. My dissertation was on Digital Game-Based Learning and Gamification theories applied in classrooms of K-12 and tertiary education both for online and offline learning. My previous degree was a BA in English Language and Literature, from the University of Athens. I am a native Greek speaker, born in Athens and a native English speaker, raised in Sydney, Australia. I love learning and enjoy teaching children and adults the correct ways of knowledge building in order to be able to acquire the life-long learning skills needed after the completion of school and higher education.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring students of all ages and levels as well as adults since 2009, from K-tertiary education, while studying a BA in English Language and Literature at the university of Athens. I also tutor English for Academic Purposes as well as English for Specific Purposes (i.e. work overseas), I have tutored for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge/Michigan proficiency exams as well. I have also tutored Modern Greek for all levels as well as for academic and specific purposes. I wish to further my tutoring skills by adding to the experience of teaching English and Greek, the skills of teaching History, especially Ancient History. My current degree is an MSc in Education (Learning and Technology) so I hope to become a tutor for Computing and ICT as well, for all levels, teaching with the use of all forms of digital technologies and various theories such as Digital Game-Based learning and Gamification.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that a great tutor is she/he who is able to making each lesson different, enjoyable, fun, engaging and motivational through the use of digital and non-digital tools. Tutors need to be able to manage their time well, be very organised and have a love for learning and teaching.
